Access to AI tools is only the starting point. Using them well means knowing where they can help, giving clear direction and checking the results. In this practical session, Factor explores how legal professionals can build those skills and move beyond a handful of familiar uses for AI.
Led by Factor’s Alex Denniston and hosted with LegalOps.com, the session offers a taste of Sensemaker Academy through guided exercises and examples from everyday legal work. Alex explores AI as an analyst, editor and creator, shows how context and follow-up feedback can improve responses, and introduces techniques for checking sources, identifying unsupported claims and testing assumptions. The session also looks at AI agents, including how to assess a task’s scale, shape and stakes, and choose an appropriate level of autonomy and access to other systems.
