AI access is no longer the problem for most legal teams. The challenge now is building the AI mindset to use it well.
Sensemaker Academy was designed to meet that challenge, helping legal professionals build confidence, competence, and fluency with generative AI. One of the core ways we do that is through our custom-built AI coaches.
These coaches are interactive tools that guide participants through hands-on legal tasks. They provide real-time feedback, adapt to user input, and help teams develop practical capability that transfers into real work.
Participants engage with a range of coaches across the program.
Here are three of them:
This coach helps participants identify where AI can support common legal workflows. Tasks include tagging contracts, extracting key details, applying basic playbook logic, and drafting internal communications. It’s designed to build practical awareness of where AI can add immediate value.
Named for the prompting framework it’s built around—Role, Action, Context, Expectations, Restrictions—the RACER Coach helps participants structure better AI inputs. It guides users through real-life communication scenarios and provides targeted feedback to sharpen prompting skills with every iteration.
This coach helps legal professionals develop critical judgment about when AI outputs may be unreliable. Participants work through eight common risk scenarios—from outdated legal references to numerical missteps—and learn to adjust their inputs and assess outputs with more confidence.
Each coach is designed to unlock a specific capability. Together, they help legal teams move beyond access to applied skill—through realistic, legal-specific training that meets lawyers where they are and builds from there.
That’s what Sensemaker Academy is built for.
