Press Release

Factor continues expansion and coverage of Enterprise clients with recent funding and new hires

Factor is delighted to announce a significant expansion of the company’s legal market coverage for corporate clients in industries where contracting functions serve in a central role as a strategic business enabler.

“Done well, contracting functions enable sales velocity while managing risk across the business; as well as faster buying processes with better user experiences,” said Sandra Devine, Factor’s chief client officer.  “Over the past several years, contracting has been the target of industry-wide investment in technology, processes, and shared services, organizational models.  Yet for many, the goal of gaining the full return on these investments remains elusive.”

As an immediate move supporting Factor’s expanded focus across the market, Helen Elardo has joined Factor to lead the commercial focus of the company’s Enterprise practice, bringing 30+ years experience as a trusted advisor and innovative partner to legal leaders. Helen previously held leadership positions in Axiom’s Technology Practice as well as Thompson Reuters Legal Product & Technology business.  Also joining the team is Din Duggan, with 10+ years experience working with blue-chip in-house clients, most recently helping them identify and implement innovative solutions to more efficiently resource and run in-house legal departments.

“Throughout my career, I have helped clients identify the best approaches for reimagining the legal function as a business enabler. The enterprise market is experiencing a whirlwind of rapid growth, realignment, and restructuring. This is an exciting time to join Factor and bring Factor’s proven solutions and industry expertise to this dynamic market” said Elardo on joining Factor.

This announcement follows Factor’s recent investment from Carrick Capital Partners, which has helped the firm accelerate the development of innovative, large-scale legal solutions for clients in Enterprise as well as the Life Sciences and Financial Services sectors.  Factor’s Enterprise practice brings together specialist industry knowledge, expert legal talent, and dedicated client coverage teams to partner with clients on the journey to modernize their legal and contracting functions.

This announcement comes on the heels of a string of key leadership additions to Factor, including legal industry innovator Ed Sohn from EY Law, to lead Factor’s Solutions and Innovations unit to further expand the company’s capabilities in contacting as well as a range of other scaled, complex legal functions. Earlier this year, Factor also announced the addition of Karl Dorwart from advisory firm FTI Consulting to lead their Life Sciences industry practice where Factor provides multi-year contracting services to Legal and Procurement teams. Karl brings years of business advisory, technology, and contracts intelligence experience as Factor expands its coverage of the Life Science sector

Factor has long been the industry leader in contracting, applying a mix of talent, technology, analytics, and process models to support an expanding view of the modern contracting “ecosystem”. Factor enables an integrated customer experience across self-service, negotiator-supported contracting; contracts intelligence, and contracts process infrastructure for its clients ranging from the world’s largest banks, life sciences companies, global technology, and telecommunications firms, and others.
